The Mailing Division of Magic Lantern Studios offers professional assistance in getting your message
to the masses via the US Postal Service. No matter how it needs to be prepared,
whether as a wafer sealed
self-mailer, inserted into an envelope, or polybagged, our staff has the equipment and expertise to
get your sales and marketing materials into the mail stream as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
We especially take pride in helping our clients keep their postage costs to the bare minimum. The key to
accomplishing that goal is planning. Take for instance the case of the client we helped save a significant
sum of money by making them aware of the US Postal System regulations for a postcard. By helping them redesign
their postcard, the client obtained close to an additional 3 cent discount per piece!
Furthermore, we were able to upgrade their mail to First Class from Standard A (formerly known as Bulk Mail).
That meant not only did their postcards get First Class delivery speed but the mailing cost them less than the
slower, Standard A mail classification dictated by their original design. By utilizing our design staff's
know-how, the client was able to save enough to do a second mailing to a select
customer list.
That's why many of our clients capitalize on our Print Division's design and
production capabilities to help them create mailing pieces that take advantage of our knowledge of the
Post Office's intricate web of regulations.
But regardless of who prepares your mailing piece, our Mailing Division staff will make certain that
your mailing abides by the rigorous Postal regulations so you obtain the best postage rate for your mailing,
whether your mailing is 1,000 pieces or a million pieces.
Our Mailing Divison Staff uses our special computer programs to checking your mailing list for duplicates,
which are a common occurrence especially when several lists have been combined. Next, they run your list through
special USPS Certified software that creates a postal sortation scheme and CASS certifies the data in your list
so it meets USPS standards. Once that process is completed, your list is compared against a US Postal Service
approved Move-Update software program that automatically updates the adresseses of people who have notified the USPS that they
have moved in the past 90 days.
While all this is happening in the IT department, others on the staff may be applying wafer seals to your
self-mailers, or inserting elements of the mailing into your envelopes.
When all the list work is completed, and tray or sack labels have been printed, we use our high speed inkjetters to
address your materials and add any custom messages you may want placed onto the finished items. We then
sort the addressed pieces into sacks, trays or tubs for delivery to the Postal Service.
